This series has been in our Book Fair and was recommended to me last year by a student. I finally got a chance to read it. I am a big fan of the older James Bond movies, but have not read any of the books. I have to say that if you are expecting the fully formed Bond from the movies or getting into the head of the character, you may find this book disappointing. However, this book has some good spying action on an evil crazy bully, just like the movies. The author also does a good job of Bond not being sure who to trust. Plus, he touches on Bond not really thinking a mere "girl" can help him. Just like the movies Bond develops some good friendships quickly and easily.
It is worth a read if you are looking for action, an easy read, and don't mind a few squeamish moments.
